Stung by the criticism of his statements and by the surfacing of a CD containing a purported conversation allegedly featuring Shanti Bhushan, his colleague on the joint drafting committee for the Lokpal Bill, activist Anna Hazare shot off a letter to Sonia Gandhi today, complaining against “one of the general secretaries of Congress party” and “one of the ministers” in the committee.
Hazare took no names, but appeared clearly to be accusing senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh and HRD and Telecom Minister Kapil Sibal of “creating confusion” and “derailing” the discussions in the committee.
“One of the General Secretaries of Congress Party has been making many statements... I assume that he has the support of the party... Most of these statements are factually wrong, which makes one believe whether his only intention is to create confusion, mislead people and derail the ongoing discussions... Do you personally approve of his statements?” Hazare wrote to Sonia.
